St Patrick’s Arva GAA Club: Lotto: The Arva Football Club Lotto draw was held in the Clubrooms on Tuesday last 17th May 2016. The Jackpot was €4,400. The Jackpot on Tuesday night last 24th May 2016 was €4,450. Lotto Envelopes can be left in the Letterbox in St Patrick’s Hall next to the National School for collection prior to the draw. Arva GAA: The next game in the Kiernan’s Service Station’s Division 1 League will take place on Friday week – 3rd June – in Virginia when Arva take on the home side – Ramor Utd – in what will be a very tough encounter. All support needed to cheer on our players.
– Golf Classic: St. Patrick’s Arva GAA Club is hosting a Golf Classic on Friday, July 15th 2016 in County Cavan Golf Club in order to help raise funds for a major development plan that will create new facilities for the club and the community in the near future. We would greatly appreciate if you could enter a team and/or sponsor a tee box or green on the day. Team Entry: The cost per team is €200. This will include Refreshments on arrival, Goody Bag, 18 Holes Golf and Dinner. There will be lots of Prizes to be won including The Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin etc. Sponsorship Options: Main Sponsors for the day (this includes entry for a team of 4) – €500. Tee Box Sponsor (per tee) – €100. Green Sponsor (per green) – €50. All the names of our sponsors will be acknowledged on the Presentation Notice Boards on the day. Hospital and Nursing Home Visitation: Priest’s no longer have access to the list of patients in any Hospital or Health Care Facility, so it is impossible for them to know that a Parishioner is in Hospital unless informed by the family. Please inform your local Priest if you would like a family member visited in a hospital or nursing home.
Lavey 2 Lourdes: The 5 Cyclist who undertook the Lavey to Lourdes Cycle are almost at their destination. They have a back-up van with them and the drivers changed on Saturday last when John Lavin returned home to be replaced by Dr Antoinette Gregan, Carrigallen. Both John and Antoinette are fluent French Speakers which is essential for such a trip. The purpose of the trip is to raise much needed funds for the Assisted Pilgrim Section of the Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage which goes to Lourdes each year from 27th May to 1st June. The Pilgrimage will depart this Friday led by Bishop Leo O’ Reilly with Fr Kevin Fay the Director. Petition’s: If anyone wishes to send a Petition to the Grotto in Lourdes please place them in a sealed envelope (no money) and leave into the Post Office for collection on this Thursday afternoon (26th) . If anyone wishes to have a Candle burn at the Grotto then put money into a sealed envelope with your name – Candles cost €2-50, €5-50 or €10-00
Bingo: The weekly Bingo sessions continue every Sunday night in St Patrick’s Hall, Arva with a great attendance. There is €3,290-00 in prize money to be won every night – the best around. If you’re not in you can’t win. Eyes down 9.00 pm.

Play: Seamus O’Rourke in partnership with Aughawillan GAA are proud to announce “Danger Money” a comedy and one man play written By John McManus. This fantastic play will be performed in Aughawillan Parish Hall on Friday May 27th 2016 at 8.30 sharp. Tickets €10.00 no need to book tickets available at the door. Blood Transfusion: The Mobile Unit of the Blood Transfusion Service will visit St Brigid’s Community Centre, Lough Gowna on Tuesday 7th / Wednesday 8th June from 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm each day. Please ensure that essential Blood Supplies are always available by giving Blood regularly. Patient’s in hospital always need Blood and it is also good for the Donor to replenish your own blood reservoir. “The life you save could be your own”.
