St Patrick’s Arva GAA Club: Lotto: The Arva Football Club Lotto draw was held in the Clubrooms on Tuesday last 3rd May 2016. The Jackpot was €4,300. Numbers drawn – 2 / 9 / 16 / 21 – no winner. €50 winners – Sean Smith, Drumury. Noel Flanagan, Castleerahan. Seamus Mc Cormack, Athlone. The Jackpot on Tuesday night last 10th May 2016 was €4,350. Lotto Envelopes can be left in the Letterbox in St Patrick’s Hall next to the National School for collection prior to the draw. We appeal to Club Members and thee wider public to support the Lotto each week as the club are trying to raise funds for their new development and all support is much appreciated.
The Cavan Ladies U-16 team played Armagh in the Ulster Final on Sunday last and our own Leah Brady scored 4 of Cavan’s 7 points. Unfortunately they were defeated by a strong Armagh display in the second half of the game.
Arva Killeshandra Ladies got their League campaign off to a good start when they defeated neighbours Gowna on Sunday last and we hope they can continue this good form in the competition. Under Team Manager Nicholas O’ Hara they are training hard each week. Lá na gClub: St Patrick’s Arva GAA Club held a Sponsored Walk on Sunday last in aid of new pitch / facilities development with a 5K and a 2K route. This was followed by a blitz with numerous underage teams taking part and what was especially nice to see was the Senior players helping out with the underage. The Ladies were busy on the Bar-B-Que and with the sun beaming down everyone was happy to stay around, listen to the music and have a chat with their neighbours. Anyone with Sponsorship Cards that have not done so already could you please leave them into Donnelly Butchers,
Golf Classic: St. Patrick’s Arva GAA Club is hosting a Golf Classic on Friday, July 15th 2016 in County Cavan Golf Club in order to help raise funds for a major development plan that will create new facilities for the club and the community in the near future. We would greatly appreciate if you could enter a team and/or sponsor a tee box or green on the day. Team Entry: The cost per team is €200. This will include Refreshments on arrival, Goody Bag, 18 Holes Golf and Dinner. There will be lots of Prizes to be won including The Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin etc. Sponsorship Options: Main Sponsors for the day (this includes entry for a team of 4) – €500. Tee Box Sponsor (per tee) – €100. Green Sponsor (per green) – €50. All the names of our sponsors will be acknowledged on the Presentation Notice Boards on the day. Lavey 2 Lourdes: A number of Cyclist’s are taking on the challenge to Cycle from Lavey to Lourdes on this Sunday 15th May to raise funds for the Kilmore Pilgrimage. If you would like to support this venture Sponsorship Cards are out and all contributions will be gratefully appreciated.
Lourdes: The annual Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place this year from 27th May to 1st June.
Petition’s: If anyone wishes to send a Petition to the Grotto in Lourdes please place them in a sealed envelope (no money) and leave into the Post Office for collection. If anyone wishes to have a Candle burn at the Grotto then put money into a sealed envelope with your name – Candles cost €2-50, €5-50 or €10-00.
Annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day will take place on this Friday 13th May next door to Keith’s Centra, Main Street, Arva. Lots of goodies available. Please come along and support this great cause!
Bingo: The weekly Bingo sessions continue every Sunday night in St Patrick’s Hall, Arva with a great attendance. There is €3,290-00 in prize money to be won every night – the best around. If you’re not in you can’t win. Eyes down 9.00 pm.

Play: Seamus O’Rourke in partnership with Aughawillan GAA are proud to announce “Danger Money” a comedy and one man play written By John McManus. This fantastic play will be performed in Aughawillan Parish Hall on Friday May 27th 2016 at 8.30 sharp. Tickets €10.00 no need to book tickets available at the door.
