Arva made the trip to Virginia on Friday evening last to play Ramor Utd in the Kiernan’s Service Station’s Division 1 League and after a very hard fought encounter the sides shared the points on a score Arva 1-11 Ramor Utd 0-14. Arva trailed all the way from the 2nd minute but never gave up and were well worth the draw getting the leveller in the 61st minute. Peter Morris opened the scoring after 20 seconds but the home side hit back with 3 points in a row before Conal Sheridan pulled one back with a free (11 min). The sides exchanged points with Jonathan Mc Cabe on target for Arva (14 min) before the home side hit a brace with Kevin Bouchier scoring the visitors 4th point (21 min). The home side shot 4 points in the remaining 9 minutes with Brian Ellis getting Arva’s only score in this period to leave the home side ahead at the interval Ramor Utd 0-10 Arva 0-5.
Arva started the second half as they did the first with a point after 40 seconds from Peter Conneely while Sheridan pointed a free (4 min) to leave 3 between them. The sides traded points with Bouchier (16 min), Sheridan (19 min – free), and Shane Hamilton (26 min) while Ramor had points 13th, 18th, 24th, 27th mins to leave them 4 points clear with 3 minutes left to play. Arva refused to lie down and their perseverance was repaid when they were awarded a Penalty in the 29th minute which Jonathan Mc Cabe coolly slotted to the net. Arva attacked from the kick out and Peter Morris sent over the equaliser in the 31st minute for a share of the points.
