Arva travelled to Our Lady of Lourdes Park, Mullahoran on Saturday evening last for a round of the Spring League and after a hard fought encounter there were defeated by a goal Mullahoran 2-12 Arva 1-12.Arva opened the scoring with a point from Shane Hamilton after 2 minutes but the home side hit the next 5 scores to lead 0-5 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. Paul Cassidy reduced the deficit for Arva in the 11th min before Jonathan Mc Cabe levelled the scores with a goal a minute later. That was as good as it got for the visitors in the first half as the home side added 2-6 before the break to a solitary point for Arva from a Conal Sheridan free (27 min) to leave the half time score Mullahoran 2-11 Arva 1-3.
The visitors set about gaining some balance in the second half and scored 9 points to a single point for the home side. Thomas Brady had the first Arva point in the opening minute and 2 minutes later Conal Sheridan was on target. Mullahoran replied with a pointed free (4 min) and from there to the finish they just couldn’t hit the target. Brian Ellis (10 min), Sheridan (11 / 14 min), Conor Mc Entee (18 min), Shane Hamilton (19 min), and Sheridan (23 / 24 min) all scored for Arva and despite keeping on the pressure for the last minutes they couldn’t get any more scores.
